Ayurveda
The term Ayurveda means the knowledge of life (AYUR - life, VEDA -knowledge). It is the traditional medicine of India.
In this ancient treasure of knowledge, health is defined as perfect balance between body, mind, spirit and environment. It tells us which substance, qualities and action are life enhancing and which are not. Ayurveda uses a holistic approach for preserving and restoring health. It is based upon the idea that an individual is an integral whole which cannot be separated from their social, cultural and spiritual environment or their link with the cosmos. It also has an intact system of daily health care practices - diet, exercises, meditation, herbology and rejuvenation therapy. Massage is included in the rejuvenation therapy.
